Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox agreed to terms with pitchers Donnie Veal and Jose Quintana on Thursday. The 27-year-old Veal hasn't pitched in the majors since 2009, when he went 1-0 with a 7.16 ERA in 19 appearances with the Pirates. Quintana, 22, spent last season with Single-A Tampa in the Yankees farm system, going 10-2 with a 2.91 ERA and one save in 30 games (14 starts).

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox have acquired right- handed pitcher Jhan Marinez and infielder Ozzie Martinez from the Florida Marlins in exchange for right-hander Ricardo Andres. The transaction was agreed upon by both clubs, and was contingent upon the Marlins reaching an agreement with Ozzie Guillen, who was named manager of the Marlins on Wednesday.
